Position Description:
- The Engineering Technician 3 position is part of a team that supports in-house research and development for the United States Department of Energy at the National Energy Technology Laboratory in Morgantown, WV.
- The principal responsibilities of the position are to provide electrical and instrumentation construction/installation support to new projects and maintenance support to existing infrastructure.
- The successful candidate must have a current Master’s or Journeyman’s Electrician license in the state of West Virginia.
- The candidate must also have at least five years of experience doing the following in an industrial environment: reading and following technical drawings, building control panels, installing and maintaining wiring, control and lighting systems, identifying electrical problems with a variety of testing devices, repairing or replacing wiring or equipment using a variety of hand and power tools and following state and local building regulations based on the National Electrical Code.
- Good computer skills are a must.
- The position will also require the periodic use of hoists, forklifts and man-lifts.
- This is an hourly paid position that works a five day work week (Monday through Friday) from 7 AM to 3:30p.
